Directions to the American Academy of Arts and Letters


Close Encounters guests should use our entrance on the far end of Audubon Terrace, on Broadway between West 155th and 156th Streets. Enter through the large gate on Broadway flanked by Boricua College and the Hispanic Society Museum and Library and walk west. Please note: this address does not correspond to our location on Google Maps, which lists our administrative entrance.

Wheelchair users can access our buildings through the garage to the left of our administrative offices at 633 West 155th Street. 

Subway: Take the 1 train to 157th Street or the C train to 155th Street. The nearest wheelchair accessible stop is the A/C at 168th Street.

Bus: Take the M4 to West 155th Street or M5 to West 157th Street.

Bike: A Citibike station is located on Broadway at West 155th Street and bike racks are available on Broadway at West 156th Street.

Parking: There is a limited amount of free street parking on West 155th and 156th Streets and metered parking on Broadway. Nearby parking garages are located on Riverside Drive and West 153rd Street.

Visitors holding the NYC Parking Permit for People with Disabilities (PPPD) placard are granted accessible parking privileges on West 155th Street, directly in front of our administrative entrance.
